As a recognized thought leader and previous administrator for over 35 years, Patrick Plant has successful experience providing leadership to and collaborating with school districts, state and federal authorities, consortia, non-profits and for-profit solution providers. This includes technology, management and planning leadership support from visioning through practical implementation to create new products, services, capacities or efficiencies to meet the needs of the (PK12) educational market.Originally a certified classroom teacher, some of Patrick’s other accomplishments include: being a successful administrative application developer, innovator in pubic/private business partnership development, a highly-regarded presenter/trainer, district-wide community involvement, having authored or been featured in a number of national educational publications or panels and having lead very successful large, planning endeavors, funding initiatives and competitive grant processes.Besides working in Anoka-Hennepin, Patrick has demonstrated leadership through implementing one of the first SIF Proof of Concept Sites, assisting numerous SIFA member companies in software development and testing and actively participating on the Implementation Task Force and the SIFA Executive Board. He also acted previously as both Interim (July 2000 – June 2001) and Acting Executive Director (March 2003 – July 2003) for the initiative. In January 2011 he was awarded the title of Executive Director Emeritus of the SIF Association (now Access 4 Learning (A4L) Community).In addition, he has participated on national K-12 education advisory councils for Apple, Cisco, Follett, Microsoft, Palm, Pearson, and Qwest, and been appointed to a number of state technology planning and advisory bodies.As an avocation, Patrick performs with longtime friends and colleagues Dennis Carlson and Brian Erlandson in the band "pce". They primarily perform at events that promote advocacy or fundraising for education or civic and health related causes.
