Worked the Summer of my Sophomore year as an intern at World Wide Technology. Learned/improved technical and soft skills, had the opportunity to work alongside and learn from friendly and hardworking individuals within the Information Technology industry, and see what it was like to work outside of the familiar setting of my family's business.Worked with 2 local interns and 2 remote interns on a Python script which took in .csv files and re-arranged columns of data to fit a provided template. Knowing when to accept proposals from other team members and not get tunnel visioned onto one solution was an important insight which was obtained from this project.Applied knowledge in Java and object oriented programming to learn Python and work alongside co-workers on challenges in backend of application.Assisted engineers as efficiently and quickly as possible with labor-intensive tasks such as bundling cables or configuring switches and servers so that their time could be used on more technically demanding tasks.

Worked a majority of major(Summer/Winter) school breaks in the family business. Performed necessary tasks beyond running the store, such as conducting pest control, updating the company website with up-to-date information such as events and shop hours while in school, and making decisions for the company concerning its listings on Google and Yelp.Active communication was used between co-workers to establish a friendly work atmosphere and avoid miscommunication. Also staying in communication with the manager so that variable problems could be known by other employees and dealt with accordingly.Arriving to work a minimum of 30 minutes before shift to assist co-worker with any immediate tasks before they clock out. Doing all assigned tasks such as baking/closing/cleaning the shop with the intention of taking care of the business rather than simply completing the tasks.
