My research aimed to improve organic synthetic methodologies and approaches in the development of novel treatments for disease. My work had a synthetic focus in the field of organofluorine and peptide chemistry and was applied through a broad array of expertise incorporating asymmetric synthesis, electrochemistry, radiochemistry, and computational chemistry. I routinely employed various technical laboratory and research skills in organic synthesis and have developed excellent communication skills and high attention to detail demonstrated through regular scientific reporting and several conference presentations.

On top of my PhD studies, I was a Teaching Fellow for the School of Chemistry. My roles included teaching tutorials, resource development, mentoring and marking. I'm a very passionate teacher and thoroughly enjoy connecting with students.

As lead mentor, I developed and delivered a week long lab-based experience for >10 very keen extension science high school students at the start of each year. Due to changing COVID restrictions in-person, hybrid and online delivery was required. The role involved resource development, content delivery, and laboratory demonstration, and was a whole heap of fun, renewing my passion for teaching and outreach.
