Path 2 Purpose is a free, voluntary program for teens to improve their mood and learn coping skills. Pioneered by leading universities, this study is a clinical trial to determine how best to help teens build healthy lifestyles and prevent feeling depressed. I participated in the recruitment of adolescent patients ages 13-19 via. phone and through in-person recruitment within various clinics including UI-Health pediatric and adolescent medicine clinics, Maxwell Family Clinics, and Mile Square Health Centers. I dealt with the enrollment process of participants into the study according to established research protocols, maintained detailed records of communication with research participants in our data management system (REDCap), maintained and processed required paperwork, as well as conducted literature searches. I participated in IRB human subjects training (CITI Training) and maintained appropriate professional competencies and compliance with human subjects training requirements. Furthermore, I trained newly hired volunteers in recruitment practices and other related study protocols, conducted research study activities and tasks as needed, and performed other related duties as assigned.
