Based on the business model and operations improvements I suggested, I created a software solution for which I designed the architecture, the functional and technical design, the SQL datamodel and the PHP REST-API/REST-server. I coded the API in PHP 7.x (I offered to program in either a C#, Java, NodeJS or PHP stack). The whole system is now being presented to beta-customers and it implements a very innovative yet practical new approach to managing/delivering bookings and itineraries to travelers. Did a business model innovation track. I reverse engineered the functional enterprise architecture and visualized the business model (standard LEAN canvas). This required interviewing employees and members of the management team, studying systems and documentation. From this I identified a set of problems, created a set of recommendations and was able to propose a software solution that addresses most of the problems and still fits the current operations and structures. An internet / bitcoin startup based on a new payment concept I worked out. We think and hope it is an economic game-changer. That's all I care to say right now ;) We launched the public beta version in 2014.I developed the concept, create functional and technical designs and programmed the REST-API and server.Got voted top-3 bitcoin startup at the World Bitcoin Conference of 2014 in Amsterdam.

Editor and writer for one of Netherlands larger weblogs Zapruder Inc. which won the title 'best weblog of the year' in 2008 (the so called Dutch Bloggie award), beating the well known Dutch blogs Geenstijl.nl, Sargasso.nl and Retecool.com Also responsible for the programming and social, interaction and visual design of ZapLog.nl, one of Netherlands largest social / crowdsourced newssites. It is actually a prototype that 'went into production' :) I initially built it to test some social design theories I had (as a layer on top of interaction design). They worked :)At the peak of our popularity we had a monthly 350.000 unique visitors.

Designed and programmed a high performance REST-webserver that calculates shipping routes from millions of route-segments from many containers carriers. I designed the relational datamodel and programmed the SQL queries, and designed and programmed the PHP kernel for the server. The application was tested and accepted by the customer just five months after we accepted the assignment. It is currently in production at http://oris.osashipping.com. Freelance assignment.

Business development and innovation. Tasked with bringing new ideas from inception to market and everything in between. Created the TeamPark-method for social collaboration, developed all the materials and brochures including a book. Worked with customers, sales and engineers to get this product incorporated into the portfolio of Sogeti. Public speaking, boardroom pitching, writing, publishing.

Designed and programmed an Document Managements System / CMS in Java. This product was called 'Sydox' and it was the basis of a company I founded together with two partners. In the end the product and all licenses where sold to a competitor.Product was an object-oriented server build in Java. Functionality is a bit 'sharepoint-like'.

Architect and designer of the software for the mechatronic container/shipping terminal of ECT/Maasvlakte. This one of the few fully robotized shippings terminals in the worlds and on top of that one of the largest. Responsible for the architecture and technical object-oriented design. Leading and training a team of 25 C++/OO software-engineers. Project was delivered according to specs, within budget and on time. I wrote two books based on my experience on this project: a book on advanced C++ (ISBN13:9789039512791) and a book on software engineering / component based software (ISBN13:9789080645417). Both where used in later stages of this project.

Translate functional requirements into a design and subsequently into working C-language mathematical software. Result was the most critical piece of software AXA uses (used), doing the overnight calculations on their insurance products for every customer.

With our company STEM I developed loudspeaker systems, -transducers and -filters. Designed an award and test winning range of home audio loudspeaker for Driade International. Designed a series of transducers (loudspeaker drivers) for Eton GmbH. Developed filtering algorithms for digital noice-cancellation applications. Developed a commercial software application for computer aided filter design which sold 1500+ copies.
