Developing the compiler for Aptos. The Ascenium Aptos is a general-purpose processor without an instruction set. Aptos eliminates the performance bottlenecks and high power consumption of the current CPU's extremely complex hardware implementation.

Patrick led and works in the Aviation team within the Optimization Group at Mathematics and Cybernetics. The team develops industry-leading real-time decisions support for Aviation and Air Traffic Control for conflict-free routing of aircraft, runway assignment and sequencing and airspace configuration.Other example projects:- Incremental Optimization: how to compile/write incremental optimization algorithms that are one order of magnitude faster than their from-scratch counterparts. Incremental optimization can accept changes in the problem data and re-optimize based on the previous solution and search data and send back changes in the (optimal) solution. Developed an incrementalized min cost flow problem solver and shorthest paths. Application: Autonomous boats - Theatre seating with social distance constraints: assign viewers to seats such that the social distance rules are not broken with the objective of having as many viewers seated as possible Technologies: C#, Python, Haskell, in-house developed simulator, RabbitMQ, gRPC
