I was a research assistant for Dr. Nicole Beebe for the Spring 2011 semester. My first task for this research project was to perform a relevancy analysis on search results from 2 different scenarios. This involved looking at over 6 million strings and determine if they had any evidential value base on the scenarios provided. The next task was to install 13 operating systems ranging from Windows XP Professional, Windows 2008 Server, to Fedora Linux using VMware. I then cloned them, updated the clones, and created disk images for the purpose of Stop Word Analysis.

I am currently a student, but on a part time basis I am a research assistant and I perform managed services.

Supported end users in company developed software on Windows 98, XP Professional, Server, and Linux platforms. I assisted in creating and updating technical and user documentation for the software as well as testing new releases. I assisted my supervisor in teaching 4 classes pertaining to a new mission critical software release to end users as well as produced a webinar after it was decided that we would not be conducting training classes.

My primary job was to set the lab up to be fit for the children in the summer and after school programs to use. My other duties were to maintain, diagnose, and repair any hardware or network related problems that prevented the staff from performing their daily tasks. The most enjoyable apart of my job was to assist the children and the local community in getting the most out of the computer lab.

As the Webmaster for TSTC System I reported to the Secretary to the Board of Regents. I was charged with converting over 500 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents created in WordPerfect to HTML format, and then implementing them in an organized fashion for users to find and read. I also created additional Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) pages as needed.

I performed comparison analysis of the existing systems to the new systems for preparation to present to executive management during workshops. After the workshops I researched problems that were discover during presentation and reported back on my findings. I also updated report applications in COBOL as requested.
