Patrick is the co-founder and managing partner at Oak CPAs PLLC. He came into the accounting profession in an unusual way with a background in financial analysis from his stint in insurance and software companies. Patrick has an economics degree from Oakland University and an MSA from the Walsh College. But his education wasn’t complete until he cashed in his corporate board room to become the shareholder of Jenkins, Magnus, Volk & Carroll PC, a regional CPA firm. Entering the business in December of 2007, the financial debacle of 2008 and 2009 brought an exciting learning experience early in Patrick's career. Through his own experiences and those of his many clients, Patrick has identified the factors that separate highly successful companies from also-rans. He has defined those strategic factors and consults regularly with his clients to help them grow and prosper.No, he doesn’t read the tax code every night but deals with it daily. He knows that the best tax strategy is to make money, a lot of it.He is more content golfing, skiing in the mountains out west, or taking in a sunset on the coast of northern Michigan…not the typical life of a CPA. He is happily married to Bethany and has three children…who have survived his entrepreneurial efforts without too many scars.
