In fall 2022, Pratt Institute collaborated with the New York City Department of Education (DOE) and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOMH) to conduct school playground projects for Public Schools 206 (PS 206) and 298 (PS 298). In the following semester, students were offered the opportunity to participate as student designers, who would work closely with the schools and attend regular meetings with members of DOE and DOMH to finalize the design concepts and work on materials needed for the constructions. A number of junior and senior students participated in making a series of videos about instructions, tips, and techniques for using many of the software programs that students would need to be versed in to create successful studio projects.
