I am one of only two individuals on my center to ever be offered a corporate contract in addition to my full-time position as Recreation Supervisor. This is due to my recreation program receiving outstanding marks within the company year in and year out, as well as my consistently high performance as an employee. The main functions of this position are: -Providing corporate support and guidance for recreation & leadership within Adams & Associates Job Corps Centers.-Maintaining regular communication with all recreation managers at 15+ other centers nationwide.-Assisting with training and special corporate assignments-Providing consultation for relevant staff in recreation & leadership-Assisting with development and revision of company SOP's as they relate to recreation & leadership-Providing assistance & support for COVID-19 measures being developed for all Adams centers-Other duties as assigned

Cascades College & Career Academy, one of one-hundred twenty-two Job Corps centers in the U.S. and one of four in Washington State was selected by the U.S. Department of Labor & Job Corps National Director Lenita Jacobs-Simmons to be a pilot program and model for the future of the United States' largest youth residential education and job training program. I was hired to join a team of fantastic and passionate individuals entrusted and commissioned by the national office to rethink and redesign the future of Job Corps for the nation.At Cascades, my role is that of Recreation Supervisor. I was hired to rethink, revise, innovate, execute and manage Campus Recreation for Cascades College & Career Academy with the overarching directive of changing the way Job Corps has traditionally operated for 50 plus years. In my position as Recreation Supervisor I am immediately responsible for the management and direct oversight of federal government property and assets. I manage a department of three Recreation staff who provide administrative assistance and execution of programs, trips and events for the students on campus. I am responsible to provide quality, diverse recreation programs and events to suit the great variety of interests and abilities of the Cascades students. In addition to these components of my job, I manage two federal facilities and run programming out of these facilities on a weekly basis, providing executive oversight and management of my team to accomplish and execute our departmental goals everyday. I love my job and love coming into work everyday. Being a part of this pilot program has pushed, and continues to push my professional growth and knowledge of the field to new heights every day.

I work to assist at any capacity, any and all of the programs that Skagit County Parks Recreation & Fair provides. I also provide administrative assistance, interfacing with various key community members and program supervision and assistance for the youth sports department. Lastly, I have a significant focus on Fairgrounds facilitation and all of the operations therein including advertising, facility monitoring, volunteer coordinating, assisting in event coordination, event promotion, marketing and general fair operations. This position has also offered me various office administration competencies.
