As Business Information Manager of the Faculty of Health Medicine and Life Sciences (FHML) I'm the link between the end users of PhD-Track and the PhD-Track administrators at the FHML Research Institutes on one side and the UM-BIM and the System Developers / IT management of PhD-Track on the other side.About PhD-Track:PhD-Track is the official online PhD project monitoring system of Maastricht University.It monitors the entire PhD trajectory, from the registration until the promotion phase, and will be (soon) in line with the new UM PhD-regulations 2023.PhD-candidates compose the mandatory Training- and Supervision Plan (TSP) and Personal Research Plan (PRP) in PhD-Track, fill Annual Questionnaires and register followed professional courses, teaching activities, conferences and other activities.Via a timeline PhD-candidates have a clear overview on their status of their PhD trajectory: 'Am I on track or not?'. Supervisors monitor and register regularly the progress of their PhD-candidates in PhD-Track.As management system, PhD-Track provides information on progress of PhD-candidates on Faculty or Institute level, length of trajectories, drop-out numbers and the quality of supervision of the PhD-candidates.

NUTRIM School of Nutrition and Translational Research in Metabolism aims to contribute to excellence in health maintenance and personalized medicine by unraveling lifestyle and disease induced derangements in metabolism and by developing targeted nutritional, exercise and drug interventions. This is facilitated by a state of the art research infrastructure and close interaction between scientists, clinicians, master and PhD students.RESEARCHNUTRIM research focuses on chronic diseases, including diabetes, COPD, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease and renal disease, and contributes to improving cancer care. The Province of Limburg, together with Maastricht University, Maastricht University Medical Centre + and Zuyd University and the business community, invested in valorisation and (knowledge) infrastructure on campuses with an attractive and a solid profile. The Maastricht Health Campus has a strong profile of imaging “from molecule to man”. In addition, a strong profile in the field of regenerative medicine on the Chemelot Campus is created. Regenerative medicine is focussing on replacing damaged or diseased body parts (cells, tissues, or even organs) with the help of endogenous (body own) materials and a variety of innovative materials and technologies, in order to try to prevent and cure diseases. Three top scientists have made the transition to Limburg. It concerns Professor Clemens van Blitterswijk, Professor Ron Heeren and Professor Peter Peters. These three have an excellent reputation, not only of their academic achievements, as well as entrepreneurial scientists.UM / MUMC + wants the knowledge of these scientists committed to the development of the Limburg knowledge economy, through the creation of two institutes:• M4I - Maastricht MultiModal Molecular Imaging Institute (Prof. Peters and Prof. Heeren).• MERLN Institute for Technology-Inspired Regenerative Medicine (currently Prof. Lorenzo Moroni). The institutes create scientific and economic value in itself and strengthen the interaction between the Chemelot Campus and the Maastricht Health Campus.
