1 Wing – Commander of the Maintenance Squadron (depot level maintenance of the Alpha Jet, SF-260 and Piper fleet). From November on 2001 on the First and second line maintenance of the SF-260 Marchetti was added bringing the total to 280 technicians.

De functie was, in samenwerking met de collega-onderofficieren en met alle betrokkenen, het:- Begeleiden van de Eenheden van de Logistiek Luchtmacht in de toepassing van TQM;- Ontwikkelen en uitgeven van procedures in verband met kwaliteitsbeheersing en –verbetering (o.a. een kwaliteitsnorm voor de Logistiek Luchtmacht);- Ontwikkelen en op punt stellen van vormingen in verband met TQM, bvb. ‘Inleiding tot TQM’, ‘Corrective Action Team Leader’, ‘Critical Process Team Leader’, ‘Statistical Process Control’, …;- Optimaliseren van de opiniepeiling naar een actiegerichte meting;- Co-vertegenwoordiger van de Luchtmacht in de werkgroep ‘Leadership 2000’ die het startschot gaf aan de vormingen gegeven door de Lokale Vormers;- Uitwisselen van informatie en kennis met andere Krijgsmachten (KNLu, RW, MD, USAF, LM, enz.) en met burgerinstellingen (o.a. als lid werkgroep CKZ Antwerpen);- Het verzorgen van briefings en vormingen in de Koninklijke Technische School, Koninklijk Hoger Instituut voor Defensie, Vormingscentrum van de Krijgsmacht, andere machten, …

15 Wing Luchttransport / Smd M Avn Commandant Flight Transport Vliegtuigen (onderhoud, interventie en inspectie, van 12 C130H m.b.v. 135 technici). Tussen de operatie door de overschakeling van inspectiesysteem (van kalender naar isochronaal) in goede banen geleid. In die korte periode een drietal zendingen naar Egypte, Jordanië, Irak, … uigevoerd.
