As the Director of Preparedness, I support BAM Weather clients in readying themselves for severe weather incidents and disasters. By integrating the Clarity Weather platform into their disaster response capabilities, organizations can confidently make decisions when severe weather threatens, develop customized and tailored exercise scenarios to test their plans, and identify areas where their disaster preparedness can be improved.

As a Deputy Director of Preparedness at Hagerty Consulting, I lead a team of 25 management consultants, serve in a chief of staff function, and oversee a portfolio of projects encompassing government, energy, and security sectors. I collaborate with public and private sector clients, providing strategic advice and guidance to enhance their emergency and crisis readiness initiatives. Responsibilities include:- Lead organizational development and talent acquisition efforts for a division of more than 60 professionals to cultivate expertise, foster organizational resilience and agility, and build high-performing teams equipped to thrive in fast-paced environments.- Orchestrate the design and implementation of operational processes to drive business growth.- Expand service offerings into new markets, as well as establish and grow strategic partnerships to fuel business growth and deliver tailored solutions to clients.- Curate a diverse portfolio of management consulting projects spanning multiple sectors. - Lead special projects and change management initiatives to optimize business development and division management practices.

As a Senior Project Manager, I led consulting teams through engagements with prominent brands and government entities in major metropolitan areas. My primary focus was on developing and testing the organizational plans and capabilities needed to effectively respond to disasters and business disruptions.Responsibilities included:- Directed an exercise design team that supported 200 utilities, 100 utility executives, and senior government leaders in a simulation to test industry capabilities in response to a cyberattack on the North American electrical grid.- Led the growth of the division's business continuity service line by performing strategic market research, identifying opportunities, conducting client segmentation, developing new strategic alliances, and acquiring new clients.- Served as the Principal Investigator for a research project funded by the National Academies of Science, focusing on enhancing continuity and crisis management programs at airports nationwide, including readiness for breaches in airport cybersecurity.

In my role, I was responsible for developing and managing projects across five program areas to ready the City and County of Boulder, Colorado for disasters, crises, and business disruptions.Responsibilities included:- I led planning efforts for over 50 departments, fostering cross-functional collaboration analogous to building meaningful strategic partnerships in the private sector.- During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I spearheaded a software development project to facilitate efficient remote work for emergency operations center staff and to improve supply chain reporting and analysis capabilities.

Led a mobile training team of 12 instructors in the Combat Hunter Program while serving as the team Officer in Charge at the rank of Captain. Responsible for driving the creation, development and implementation of the Combat Hunter Trainer Course, a 3-week course designed to provide Marines with the ability to train their units to make decisions more quickly and accurately when they only have limited time and limited information available.Served as the primary instructor of the Infantry Train-the-Trainer course that provided deploying Marine units with the foundation to train their subordinate leaders. Through an understanding the System's Approach to Training (SAT) Model, leaders have the ability to maximize training time and effectiveness before they deploy.

Served as the senior commander for over 300 Marines, from nine diverse functional areas through a year-long pre-deployment training program to prepare the Marines fo deployment to Afghanistan. In this role, was responsible for creating the long-term training goals while balancing and managing the short-term training requirements. In order to ensure continuous growth and accomplishment of training requirements, led and managed a company staff to ensure training goals were met. This included the development and coordination of personnel in operations, logistics, radio and data communications, intelligence, and administrative fucntional areas.Managed equipment totaling over $18 million that is necessary for the training and deployment for a Regimental Headquarters and Command Post, maintaining a 90% mission readiness rate.

Served as second-in-command for over 150 Marines through a year-long training program and seven-month deployment to Iraq.Prior to the deployment, led and managed a staff to design, develop, and perform training evolutions, including overseeing the logistical coordination and after-action reviews to maximize the value of the training provided.While deployed, led company operations center to coordinate intelligence, operations, communications, and logistical resources for all combat-related activities, and served as the primary liaison with the Iraqi Security Forces.

Led a 40-Marine platoon through a combat deployment to Iraq, ensuring the operational planning and coordination within the unit as well as higher-headquarters elements to defeat an active insurgency.
