Having spent 25 years working for and reporting on the cinema business, I have come to appreciate why it is the only major industry that keeps surviving major disruptions. The answer is: INNOVATION. Understanding this, implementing this and going around the world to speak at conferences about this is what drives me to work for a medium that is 125+ years old, yet keeps on re-inventing itself and shows no signs of going away.My work in cinema has afforded me the privilege to work in many varied roles: I have been Senior Analyst for world-renowned media companies (Screen Digest, now Omdia); Head of Business Development for both startups (Unique Digital) and major Hollywood companies (Deluxe); COO of India's largest media service provider (Reliance MediaWorks), as well as co-founder of two successful start-up: Celluloid Junkie (cinema B2B analysis platform) and Cultpix (SVoD for classic cult and genre films). I have been fortunate to have lived and worked in some incredibly dynamic cities and business environments, including London, Mumbai and Singapore, as well as having a world-wide network of colleagues IRL and over 12,000 followers on LinkedIn. My mentor Richard Wolfe taught me that the secret to staying young is to always be curious and continiously challenge yourself.
