As a student studying at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, I have lofty goals for myself. I am taking a wide variety of classes within the business school in order to develop a broad and strong business foundation while determining my ultimate area of specialty in the business field. My current areas of interest include marketing and information systems. I am a student, colleague, and acquaintance of many people on campus. I embrace intellectual challenges, work well solo or in a team, and strive to be the voice of reason in the face of conflict.Sociability is one of my best attributes. Since grade school when all I wanted was to make great friends, I have had great sociability skills. This quality has enabled me to thrive in my customer-facing jobs as well as in my interpersonal relationships. My time working as a cashier and usher allowed me to use my natural affability to improve customer experiences and add value for my employers.Conflict resolution is another quality that has suited me well in my various jobs and my life in general. Making the proverbial lemons into lemonade comes naturally. I like to defuse stressful situations with hard work and, when appropriate, a smile and a sense of humor.I tend to thrive in team environments while also enjoying and excelling at solo projects. I have successfully worked on teams for various classes, service projects, jobs, and athletics. I strive to participate as an active, helpful, and supportive team member in all of these endeavors. My vast experience on teams has helped me to develop leadership skills that I believe will suit me well in my future career.
