Whether I’m working with private equity investors, corporate clients, or CEOs, I start as an outside observer. The way I create value for a client’s business is by getting to know their people. Companies can’t thrive without a culture that supports their most important resource. It’s a subtle but key difference in this field. I come from a business background first—the business side always drew me. It’s why I started my own company, Mukala Partners. I liked the intellectual challenge of investing, but something was missing: the chance to make an even bigger impact on the numbers by focusing on people. I love working with leaders to cultivate the best possible teams.Shaping great teams and great people drives me every day. It’s why I named the company Mukala, or “village.” I believe it takes a village for all of us to reach our full potential. It’s an approach I follow in my work, as I bring together the best of coaching, consulting, and talent development to help companies with:• organizational assessment: get people in the right roles for their capabilities, for where the business is now and where it needs to go• coaching and development: I’m happiest when I can get in the trenches and help build teams• plan design and implementation: this includes supporting investors, management, and their teams with clear strategies they can put into actionLifting people up and building great teams is why I get out of bed in the morning. I love knowing that we’re not just helping businesses succeed, we’re transforming lives. To be of service to someone else inspired me to join the Peace Corps, and it continues to inspire me today. Away from work, I’ll still have my head in the latest research on personal development. Reaching your potential is a journey, not a destination.Specialties: team leadership | executive coaching | organizational development
