Employee Relations Specialist
CurrentOur Employee Relations team serves as the subject matter experts on city policy and regulations as well as implementation of state and federal employment laws. We provide counsel and coaching to supervisors, managers, directors and employees at all levels and in all departments of the city government.-Serve as a subject matter expert on city policy and regulations-Provide counsel on interpretation and implementations of city policy and regulations-Coach supervisors and managers on best practices for handling conduct and performance issues on their team to ensure employees' success-Interact with city leadership regarding employee relations, expectation setting, performance improvement, investigations, discipline, and training. -Assist with the overall management of administrative obligations under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the city's Ethics Commission.-Navigate Equal Opportunity Employment issues to protect employees from discrimination, harassment and/or retaliation- Provide coaching and training on conflict resolution strategies and effective methods for corrective coaching and feedback- Conduct workplace mediations (we are certified workplace mediators accredited by the MTI and the IMI)
