I help businesses solve legal challenges involving complex engineering and information issues, such as cyber security, data privacy, e-Commerce and product liability claims. I lead Snell & Wilmer's product liability/autonomous vehicle group, and also co-chair the cyber security and data privacy practice area. I counsel clients regarding compliance with government regulations (e.g., FMVSS, FTC, CPSC, CalOPPA, NIST) and industry standards (ISAO,SAE, ANSI, PCI-DSS, ABYC) and best practices. I'm a member of Arizona InfraGard, as well as the International Association of Privacy Professional (IAPP), among other professional organizations, and co-chair the IAPP's Phoenix KnowledgeNet chapter. I am national trial counsel for several large companies in the manufacturing, mobility, transportation and industrial equipment industries. I've handled cases in just about every state in the country, and have taken cases to trial in Arizona, Washington, Nevada, Texas, Kansas, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Louisiana, Kentucky, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. I currently focus on autonomous vehicle and crash avoidance technology matters, particularly those that interplay with cyber security and data privacy I'm also involved in the Arizona legal community. I currently serve on the Executive Council for the eCommerce and Technology Section of the State Bar of Arizona, as well as the State Bar's Standing Advisory Committee on Technology. I am a past President of the Board of Directors of Community Legal Services, Inc., the largest non-profit pro bono legal services organization in Arizona. I also served for more than 20 years on the Advisory Committee of the Maricopa County Volunteer Lawyers Program. For the past several years I have served as a Judge Pro Tem for the Maricopa County Superior Court.
