 Administers and supervises a variety of essential services to protect the health, safety and environment of Milam County which include immunizations, well child visits, tuberculosis control, STD, WIC program, environmental health (Septic program), indigent health care, and Public Health Preparedness. Oversees budget, staff, and overall programs of the Milam County Health Department.  Works with Texas Department of State Health Services in Austin, Texas and also the Region 7 office located in Temple, Texas and other entities securing funding and programs.  Responsible for planning, developing, organizing and directing a comprehensive community health program.  Supervises internal operations, property management and employee welfare activities within Milam County Health Department. Represents Milam County Health Department in negotiations and planning with local, state and federal authorities on matters involving funding, grants.

I began employment at the Milam County Health Department on October, 1983 as the secretary. Then was promoted to office manager and again received a promotion as Administrative Assistant. Job duties increased with each promotion. Basic secretarial duties were executed from the beginning of employment. As the health department grew with more programs, grants and employees, work became more complex.

My main job responsibilities as the Business Office Clerk was to prepare all necessary paper work associated with the admittance of patients. I submitted all insurance claims for the patients, as well as collection of accounts. I was responsible for the financial reporting of all records that were handled through the Business office of the Hospital.
