  Began my Government career with US Forest Service in 1962 to 1971. Re-entered 1974 with the Federal Insurance Administration (HUD). This branch of the Fed Gov't became part of the Federal Emergency Mgt Agency (FEMA) in 1979. I remained with FEMA until retiring in 1995. My responsibilities including one on one contact with Congressmen, Mayors, CityManagers, County Commissioners, county & city engineers, planners, reviewing their floodplain regulations & fp maps, which in turn allowed the purchase of federally backed flood insurance in their jurisdictions. I was responsible for all state of Georgia cities & counties participating in the National Flood Insurance Program, including presenting flood insurance (hydrology) studies /effects of rivers & streams in their jurisdictions. Usually conducting public meetings along with workshops, & private working assistance meetings with each jurisdiction. In large communities these meetings were sometimes televised &/or reported in local newspapers.
