Greetings Everyone!My name is Patsy Montemayor: I am a bold, honest, open-minded person. I was born in Laredo, Texas but raised in Houston, Texas. Spanish and English speakers all the way! I present the Hispanic community but define myself as a Chicana by heart due to both of my parents. Mucho Amor para todo Mundo! I have been obsessed with the News since second grade, I was admired by Anchor, Ned Hibberd when he worked for Fox 26, and I got lucky to have learned about him and the News industry through his former wife who was my teacher at Sutton Elementary during that time in second grade, Danielle Hibberd. I was able to accept that I wanted to be in the News which directed me to get my degree in Journalism and pursue my master's in Mass Communications. You must be passionate about the importance of being able to do what you want to become because then you start feeling regrets, this is something my parents always told me as first gen. Therefore, I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Houston, in 2022. I also have a Minor Degree in Political Science from the University of Houston, 2022. I am unafraid to seek out stories conduct interviews and find leads through careful research. I have had nothing but drive and dedication to articulate the truth to the public through careful and in-depth research and excellent writing/ communication skills. I grab attention and keep it. I am a skilled communicator, writer, photographer, sales, and event coordinator and have excellent social media platform experience which I also bring very strong research and interpersonal skills. I am organized with an easy communication style that makes me a top-notch interviewer. I have a concise conversational writing style and can put together a piece quickly and efficiently with no errors. I am also pursuing my Masters of Arts in Mass Communications from Stephen F. Austin State University this Spring, 2023. I am a highly motivated individual who is always looking for new ways to improve my skills as a journalist.
