About Patsy Smith Morgan
I am a licensed attorney but that is what I do, it is not who I am. I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and is through Delta that I have become much of who I am. I am a proud graduate of Fisk University - Fisk Forever. I am a natural volunteer for any good cause. I am a consummate professional in any endeavor to which I devote my time, talents and treasures. I love organizing people, projects and events and, like the A-Team commander, says "I just love it when a plan comes together". I am a people person and I have special place in my heart and in my life for young people, especially young women. I enjoy mentoring and encouraging them and helping them realize their potential in ways that I wish someone had done for me when I was younger. I am a lifelong learner and I am curious about everything. I learn something everyday from my work, a book or article that I have read, or an encounter with a friend or a stranger. In my job I put out fires daily and I believe that I am quite good at managing conflict towards a positive result. Since my daughter is graduating from college this year and my nest is empty I am channeling all the energy that I previously put into her into reinventing myself. I love to dance and to travel. I am an African American history buff. I previously (2000 - 2011) chaired the Board of Directors of the Pope House Museum Foundation, Incorporated. I am a voracious reader and a real movie lover. I love cats and expect that some time soon I will get a dog. I am enjoying learning Spanish and think that I may tackle Italian and/or Arabic next. I am building my fortune with my Nerium skincare business and I am establishing a nonprofit called Deployment: HOME to provide a support system for veterans, military personnel and their families. I look forward to retirement so that I can pursue my next phase, whatever it will be. I am in a good place in my life and my work and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for me and mine.
