Patsy Woods Martin has over thirty years experience as a non-profit executive, social entrepreneur and cattle rancher. Most recently, Patsy served as the Executive Director of Annie's List, a political action committee launched 15 years ago to elect pro-choice, progressive WOMEN to office in Texas. Prior to that, she founded and served as the Executive Director of 'I Live Here, I Give Here' in order to elevate personal philanthropy in Central Texas. The organization has raised millions of dollars for over 700 local charities and has engaged thousands of Austinites in giving more of their time and money to worthy local causes. Previously she was the Vice President of Resource Development at United Way Capital Area. Trained as a chemist in college, Patsy has used her analytical skills to build and manage the boards of multi-million dollar organizations and to bring diverse coalitions together to find common ground. Governor Ann Richards appointed her to the Board of Regents for Texas Tech University where she fought for full implementation of Title IX so that women's athletics received equal resources. She has served on the Boards of Annie's List, the Center for Public Policy Priorities, the Long Center for the Performing Arts and Mainspring Schools, among others. Patsy grew up in Texas in a 4th generation cattle ranching family. Today, she and her husband operate the family cow-calf operation in Montague County. Patsy and her husband Jack lived in Austin from 1977 to 2018 and raised their three children there. In April, 2018, Patsy retired from Annie's List. She and her husband split their time between Dallas and Montague County, Texas.
