Hello Juneau!First, I would like to introduce myself as the new (old) Landlord of the Mendenhall Mall. My family built this mall starting in the late 70's. When I say built, I mean my dad laid the block and poured the foundations while my mom ran the job and books; some of you may remember Rhine & Cheri Fluck, my parents. We sold the Mall 14 years ago and just had it returned in May, so here we go again! For those of you who do not know me, I was born and raised in Juneau. I grew up either working on these mall additions or hanging out at the Mall (Bullwinkle's Friday nights, skating in the rink or just cruising the halls as a teen). I am a Juneau girl and I am passionate about making the Mall what it once was and dedicated to this community. Our priority is maintenance & adding tenants to our Mendenhall Mall Family! Lighting, painting, and a good cleaning. We have been in communication with the ground lessor, Tower Legacy, about the parking lot. It will be restriped within 30 days. They have hired security for the nights and are managing the lot. If you see cars left or “parking lot residents" please let me know and Tower Legacy will manage it. Inside the mall we are in the process of improvements. We have installed new security cams and are working on replacing all the lights. Keeping the Mall clean and safe! You will see new paint soon and other improvements. Covid has thrown a wrench in the middle of all this excitement, but as the mandates and as bans are lifted, we are getting back to regular consistent Mall hours. Currently, the doors are open, and lights are on from 10 to 7pm weekdays, 10 to 6pm Saturday and 12 to 5pm Sunday.
