About Patsy Engel
I am a registered nurse with 25 years of clinical experience with an emphasis on quality and chronic disease management. I have a Bachelors Degree in Nursing and Management and am a certified asthma educator. I also hold a Lean Bronze Certification from the SME/AME. While working within the ThedaCare Improvement System I served as the lead facilitator for the Cancer Service Line Value Stream. I was instrumental in developing the improvement system’s training programs, and served as faculty for the improvement system's internship for hospital managers and supervisors. As an Operations Development Specialist I had the opportunity to help design the lean management system for the hospital division which is now being practiced throughout the organization. In addition to being faculty for ThedaCare Leadership Practices, I have also served as faculty for Catalysis sharing my experiences with managing in a lean healthcare organization.In my past role as a Director of Operations, I supported Appleton Medical Center, ThedaClark Medical Center, and the Transitions of Care Division of ThedaCare in creating spread models and teams to accomplish rapid cycle improvement.My passion is for teaching and coaching around process improvement, lean management, leadership, and high quality and compassionate patient experiences.
