Develop programs and curriculum for the 21st Century grant program that enhances the academic and cultural experiences for youth and families in our area. This is achieved through curriculum research and partnerships with area organizations.

-Instruct courses in Psychology, Human Service, and Student Development to include: Principles of Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Substance Abuse, College Survival Skills, and Student Development for Great Expectations Students and Mentors-Develop material and utilize Blackboard for course administration -Enter student information into the SIS system -Utilize SAILS for student progress throughout the semester -Write letters of recommendations for students as requested -Recommend potential internship sites for students as requested -Provide field information and potential career information to students-Assist in textbook selection -Attend faculty in-service trainings and New Horizons conference as offered -Completed the Teaching Online Program course to meet eligibility requirements for teaching online for the Virginia Community College System

Provide instruction to students in the public school system in the absence of their teacher. Classroom settings include traditional teaching, special education, elective courses, and school counseling.

Assisted students at Patrick Henry Community college with admissions and financial aid applications to ensure successful enrollment.

Provided in-home counseling to families and children. Created the parent program, assessed parents for admission to the program, facilitated the program, and provided in-home skills training to parents.

Facilitated group counseling for youth for topics to include anger management, children of substance abusing parents, grief and loss, and self-esteem.

Developed the independent living curriculum for children in foster care and other at risk youth. Facilitated skills training on these topics in individual, small group, and large group settings. Managed three grants to provide funding for youth in the program.
