StringFire is a high-energy dance band specializing in music for Contra Dance, Scottish Country Dance and English Country Dance, featuring excellent musicians with great reputations in their own right, JAMES MACQUEEN and ANNIE RODIER on fiery fiddles, PATTI COBB tickling the ivories, ERIK IEVINS rounding things out on bass and cello. Their first contra dance CD, "Spindriftin'​", (made before Annie joined the band), includes Caroline McCaskey and Shira Kammen. Their second CD, "Excited States", is a Scottish Country Dance album that bears listening for sheer musical enjoyment as well. Both are available on CD Baby. A third CD, of contra dance music, "Landslide", is due out soon.StringFire's infectious spirit of fun infiltrates the hearts and feet of musicians and dancers alike. A mixture of classical training and a wide variety of experience yields an out-of-the-ordinary groove you won't want to miss! Drawing from Celtic, Klezmer, Blues and old-time traditions, StringFire takes pride in well-rounded yet eclectic repertoire, and working with callers to make music that enhances the dance experience. StringFire's members are enthusiastic, talented, genuinely nice, and write wonderful tunes.

Served as Chair of the Asilomar Committee 2006-2009 and again 2015-2017, planning and running an annual weekend Scottish dance workshop for 260 people. Also served as publicity coordinator for this event. Served as Manager of the BACDS English Dance Week (Hey Days) putting on a week-long summer dance camp for 103 in 2014 and 2015.
