Lifetime Professional Goal: for the professional term "Infection Preventionist" be a household name (YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7jpWIjvyQk ) -- together we can do this for the benefit of people that require healthcare everywhere.She was the 2013 APIC president (www.apic.org) , Texas Society for Infection Control and Prevention president for 1998 (www.tsicp.org) , and served three terms on the Texas Healthcare-Associated Infection/Preventable Adverse Event Advisory Panel for public reporting. As of 2014 she has been appointed a third term as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the peer-review publication the American Journal of Infection Control. Ms. Grant has been an Infection Preventionist for 33 years in hospitals ranging from 1000-bed University-Teaching Level I Trauma Centers, to small for-profit acute care community facilities. She has continuously held her “CIC” since 1992. Patti is published in peer-reviewed journals and gives presentations from the local to inter-national level on infection prevention and control. Patti firmly believes in leading by example and mentoring others toward reaching their optimal potential – with that said she is the recipient of the 1997 APIC New Investigator Award, a Great 100 Nurse for Dallas-Fort Worth in 1994, the 2001 Gerre Haynes Award Recipient for Excellence in Infection Control from the Texas Society of Infection Control Practitioners, and the APIC headquarter 2010 Leadership Award from a nomination of her APIC-DFW chapter peers based on her public policy/governmental affairs work within Texas.In October 2012 she stepped out of her immediate comfort zone to become the Director of Infection Prevention/Quality at Methodist Hospital for Surgery in Addison Texas. This facility opened in November 2010 and is a DNV accredited surgical hospital (http://dnvglhealthcare.com/) awarded ISO2001:2008 certification in 2014 -- one of the first in North Central Texas.
