It's the designer in me I guess....I retired from a company in Southern CA where I was an interior designer. Retirement is wonderful but can make a person feel kind of lost after being used to working everyday for years.The urge to design came back when I became interested in Mixed Media Collage. It was fun and satisfied the urge to create and put colors together to make something beautiful. Within a year I was totally in love with digital art.I struggled teaching myself Photoshop but it was so worth it. I started creating all sorts of color and layering with beautiful Victorian and Vintage images. The possibilities in using Photoshop are endless. The problem was what do I do with these collages.I tried framing them. I tried displaying them in a window display. I made greeting cards with them. Everyone loved them but my Etsy Shop had no sales :(On a suggestion from one of my Etsy Team Members I put a couple of those collages on some empty Altoid tins. That's it !! I found my niche! I opened a new Etsy Shop with a brand new name, Altered State of Tin and started upcycling these little tins. I expanded my horizon by altering small jars and cigar boxes. I am a happy camper now.
