The quarter-life crisis was legit when I was 24 years old. Out of college with a degree in philosophy, adamant to not work in a cubicle, this self-proclaimed philosopher quickly found “thinking” wasn’t going to cover my student loans or the rent I had to pay. So I found myself landing a job at a non-profit in Boston.That job later developed into a marketing career, and a love for a company that took pride in doing the right thing. They placed value on hard work and the importance of work-life balance, so in that time I began my family. After 13 years of working at this company I loved, it was time for me to focus on my family, so in the fall of 2017 I became a stay-at-home-mom.Well this job is no joke either. My ability to multi-task is off the hook. I can brew a cup of coffee, while cooking 3 different breakfasts, fillping over a load of laundry and feed the cat in under 5 minutes. The ability to juggle multiple priorities and not miss a detail has made me successful in my career over the last 13 years, particularly in the event management space. You can’t miss a beat there; first and foremost, devoting attention to the strategy of the campaign followed by the many deadlines to beat, and being sure to address every other aspect from meeting space logistics, BEO, AV, and collateral to shipping and payment, among the many other things involved in producing a successful event. I thrive on this and checking boxes.Most recently I worked on the B2B side of marketing specifically in our email automation programs in Pardot, furnishing qualified marketing leads, while managing our external advertising agency. I learned so much here in the 3 years that I held this position, but I’m true event planner at heart. So after this short hiatus, I’m ready to dive back into something that I truly enjoy. Right now, my official titles are SAHM, yoga teacher, and quasi-blogger and I’m looking forward to my next role back in the world of marketing.
