I help talented individuals excel at nonprofit leadership, expanding their capacity through organizational consulting and individual coaching services. Our firm works with organizations, foundations and institutions serving all sectors of the nonprofit community. Areas of expertise include strategic planning, coaching & talent development, presentation/facilitation, and fundraising.I started PMA Nonprofit Leadership following a decade in higher education, including five years as Vice President for University Advancement at Queens University of Charlotte and five years as Vice Chancellor for University Advancement at UNC Wilmington, where I was the youngest vice chancellor in the UNC system. Before going to Wilmington, I served as Program Director for NC Special Olympics in Raleigh for seven years following two years with Special Olympics International in Washington D.C. My work for Special Olympics included the creation of a unique volunteer training system called sport development teams, still in use today nationwide.I'm a native of Elizabeth City, NC, and active in the philanthropic and nonprofit community. I'm a former board member for the NC Chapter of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners, a Past President of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) chapter in Charlotte, and served as the Chapter Representative on the board of AFP Global. I was selected as a Fellow for the William C. Friday Fellowship for Human Relations in 2001. I currently serve as the Lead Faculty member for the Institute of Philanthropic Leadership’s signature programs: Emerging Leaders in Philanthropy and Leadership Gift School. I've been hosting a weekly podcast called Your Path to Nonprofit Leadership since November of 2019, and published a book, also titled Your Path to Nonprofit Leadership, in March of 2022.I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill, where I was a Morehead Scholar, and received my MBA from the McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte.
