Patty manages the daily operations of all the companies under DJ Group. She started her career as a teacher and after several years of teaching, in 1995, she decided to explore the opportunity of operating a small gift and convenience store in her hometown of Hopedale. Soon after, the opportunity to open a new hotel was presented to her, and in 1998, the Amaguk Hotel in Hopedale opened its doors. Shortly after, DJ Properties was formed to oversee the operations of commercial and residential properties. Further expansion brought the Franks General Stores into operation and the acquisition and extensive renovation and refurbishment of the Atsanik Hotel in Nain.
