There are a lot of enterprises that acquire businesses, but Brynavon is a second-generation, family owned and operated Investment Company that defines its acquisition niche by the following characteristics:• Brynavon partners with the current management teams and lends them capital to acquire up to 20% of the businesses for which they work. If management teams have access to other capital, then they can acquire an additional 20% for a total of 40% of the acquisition and Brynavon acquires the balance.• Brynavon focuses on manufacturing and service businesses that are too large for an individual to acquire and too small for a private equity group; typically this equates to businesses that generate $1-2 million in EBITDA (Earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, & Amortization).• Brynavon is willing to give the management team an option to acquire Brynavon’s position on a formula basis once the acquisition debt is retired which gives the management team a clear path to 100% ownership.• Ownership transitions between family generations when some children work in the business and other children are not involved.
