Patty Fritz is Head of U.S. Corporate Affairs at UCB, leading teams responsible for public policy, government affairs, advocacy, sustainability, and communications, and public affairs as well as UCB’s office and strategic priorities in Washington, D.C. She also oversees UCBCares, a team of pharmacists and Customer Care Professionals dedicated to providing timely and accurate product support across all brands to patients, caregivers, and healthcare stakeholders in a variety of areas.Patty leads efforts to create value for patients and their families through strategic engagement and positively influencing the healthcare environment and policy landscape. In her role, she finds opportunities to better understand the unique needs of people living with and impacted by severe disease, so UCB can focus on helping them live their best lives. She champions innovative approaches to spotlight and improve access to care for people living with severe diseases. Patty also leads UCB’s sustainability efforts in the U.S., amplifying UCB’s commitment to the health of planet, health and well-being of employees, innovation, sustainable access, diversity, equity, and inclusion as well as ethic business practices. Prior to leading U.S. Corporate Affairs, Patty made an impact through additional leadership roles including regulatory affairs, operational excellence, government affairs, health policy, and UCBCares®. Patty led the regulatory efforts for UCB’s first product filing in the US - Keppra® (levetiracetam) - and oversaw the FDA approval process for many of UCB’s products. Prior to joining UCB, Patty held positions with the government and industry in regulatory affairs, clinical development, and research.Patty also championed and was a driving force behind the establishment of UCB’s Women in Leadership initiative. She was recognized by PharmaVOICE magazine as one of the 100 most influential and inspirational leaders in the life sciences industry in 2019. And in 2020, was awarded the Industry Growth Award by Georgia Bio, for extraordinary contributions to the growth of the life science industry in Georgia. In addition, she was recognized in the Top 50 Women Leaders of Georgia in 2023 and 2024 by Women We Admire. And most recently, she was recognized by Healthcare Businesswoman’s Association as a 2024 Luminary. Outside of UCB, Patty serves on the Board of Directors of the Innovation and Value Initiative (IVI) and is a member of The Carter Center Board of Councilors.
