As an AI Robotics Engineer for FutureDial I am literally living my professional dream. Working with robots has me leveraging skills I have developed over my entire lifetime. I am blessed. After graduating from Eleven-Fifty Academy's Cybersecurity Program in February 2022, I started with a brief contract as a Senior IT Support Engineer for Rolls-Royce Aerospace. There, I provided critical support in the high-stakes environment of aerospace technology. My next stop was at Scale Computing, where I worked on their Hyperconverged Virtualization solution—an innovative approach that’s transforming server infrastructure by replacing entire server rooms with a single, efficient appliance at half the cost. Following this, I honed my corporate experience with Cognizant, commuting daily to the impressive One America Tower in downtown Indianapolis. I then completed a rewarding stint with Radial before deciding to return to school full-time.Currently, I am pursuing my Associate of Science in Design Technology at Ivy Tech, with a perfect 4.0 GPA. The plan after this is to keep the momentum going with a bachelor’s degree in Themed Entertainment Design from Purdue University’s Polytechnic Institute in Indianapolis. That program’s unique blend of creativity and engineering is incredibly exciting—though I have quite a few classes ahead, I find school more rewarding than ever!CYBERSECURITY EXPERIENCEMy interest in cybersecurity began when I was 12, after watching the movie *Wargames*, which inspired me to work with military computer hardware like the WOPR (War Operations Planned Response). Years later, as an IT Analyst for General Stanley McChrystal in Afghanistan, I was responsible for managing two DoD networks: the NIPR and the SIPR. My cybersecurity journey began even earlier, though, when I was 13 and coded a BBS in BASIC on a VIC-20, later upgrading to a Commodore 64. Even then, I had to defend my system from Threat Actors, learning firsthand how to harden my code before there was a Google to help. I have enjoyed a Cybersecurity boot-camp at Eleven-Fifty and spent time on their Cyber Range. I’ve defended networks from live attacks, sharpening my skills in a real-time environment and gaining practical experience that builds on over 40 years of cybersecurity know-how.
