Supported research in novel computer vision algorithms for application in biomedical image segmentation. Throughout my time as a research assistant I advanced my experience with Python, R, and MATLAB. I utilized the Python libraries SciPy, Scikit-learn, OpenCV, and Matplotlib to evaluate performance and conduct feature selection of random forest models.During my final term as a research assistant I contributed towards a novel method for anthropometric human gait identification and state detection using LiDAR videos. Research involved implementing deep convolutional neural networks, conducting data augmentation, and analyzing the latest research papers to combine and augment their methodology with significant data limitations.I conducted regular presentations of research grant proposals to government and commercial interests. Additionally, this included demonstrating previous research to existing and prospective clients and an in-depth technical understanding of the research and reasoning behind its implementation.As the lab expanded during my employment, I proposed and coordinated the adaption of Git as a version control system. This required applying standard code style conventions to current and existing source code as well as educating lab members on best practices.
