I work at the intersection of arts, design, and technology, building organizations that explore the impact of information technology on society.Over a decade ago, I founded Domestic Data Streamers, a team of 30 interdisciplinary professionals. Together, we've completed over 300 projects in more than 50 countries, collaborating with organizations such as the United Nations, the California Academy of Sciences, and Citizen Lab. I enjoy teaching and currently chair the Master in Data in Design program at ELISAVA University. I've also been a guest lecturer at institutions like the School of Visual Arts in New York, the Hong Kong Design Institute, the Royal College of Art in London, and the Barcelona School of Economics.In 2021, I started HeyHuman!, an artist residency program that supports young artists interested in combining music, journalism, data, art research, and social justice.I have a posibilistic mindset. Researcher In ResidenceIstituto Europeo Di Design Aug 2012 - May 2013Milan Area, ItalyDuring my time at the contemporary center, I had time to explore and research the different ways we can actually create urban cartographies working over the idea of subjective maps and learning about the importance of individual perceptions of the city.The city has defined itself, since its origin, as a double territory with two qualities: to form a delimited space and, within that space, to connect to other territories. The elements of the city evolve in time, allowing its territory to grow out of its geographical and tangible limits. As a delimited space, it develops a public perception, not only visible (with the right to be overseen) but also accessible (with the right to be visited and experienced) by its inhabitants.I worked together with the renowned artist Klaus Fruchtnis using the city of Milan as a common ground for exploration and development for their residency projects. The whole project ends up with a book publication and an exhibition of the research results.
