After playing a key role in the sale of Working Time Solutions (WTS) to Totalmobile, my subsequent focus was on leading the transition and integration of our market-leading workforce management SaaS product into Totalmobile’s wider suite of technology.This included ensuring seamless collaboration between multiple development teams working across diverse products and technologies.Key experience in this role:Strategic leadership - Spearheading the integration and transition of development, QA, implementation, and support services capabilities into the acquirer’s existing structure.Product integration - Maximising product synergy and stakeholder value by successfully aligning Working Time Solutions’ products with Totalmobile’s expanded portfolio.Team development - Fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration by mentoring and supporting the team’s ongoing growth and performance and overseeing recruitment, training, and career development.Methodology implementation - Increasing productivity and streamlining workflows by introducing tailored approaches to synchronising multiple development teams across various technologies and locations.

I was responsible for re-platforming the business’ legacy on-premise workforce management technology to create a high performance SaaS model and market leading product relied on by a diverse range of enterprise organisations. The quality of Working Time Solutions’ business-critical software, track record of customer success and SaaS-driven ARR growth was central to shareholders achieving a strategic premium on exit.Key experience in this role:M&A strategy & due diligence - Playing a key role in value creation and the competitive sale process. This included preparing our business for acquisition by ensuring the technology platform, governance and team around it was best in class and investment ready.Operational transformation - Accelerating product development, customer delivery and transaction preparedness by leading a rapid and complete transformation of the business’ technology function. This included implementing a new organisational structure, creating custom agile methodologies/tools and embedding a performance culture in the team.Product innovation - Leading the transition from on-premise licensing to a multi-tenant, public cloud-hosted SaaS subscription model with an integration-ready architecture to support the exit strategy. I directed the development of new products while ensuring enterprise customers seamlessly transitioned from legacy systems to a modern SaaS solution with the highest compliance and cybersecurity standards.Operational excellence - Delivered to the highest standards within a self-funded owner-managed budgetary environment. This required the introduction of lean processes, strong vendor relationships and careful infrastructure design to provide scalability and optimal ROI.

My SaaS journey started in 2008, transitioning Fundtech’s legacy on-premise solutions to multi-tenant SaaS platforms used by some of the biggest companies in the world.Over an eight-year period I progressed through the business to become Head of Development and Delivery designing and implementing large-scale, high-volume SaaS products such as myBill (DHL) and BAWE.Creating multiple high volume, secure, multi-language, sharded SaaS solutions (including white label products for high street banks) gave me invaluable knowledge and experience that I’ve built on throughout the rest of my career.Key experience in this role:M&A strategy - Played a key role in preparing the product for acquisition and ensuring valuations were underpinned by flawless technology, compelling products and strong customer relationships.Growth & scaling - Created and implemented scalable SaaS products, incorporating public, private and hybrid cloud solutions. This included careful management of teams and infrastructure to support rapid product growth, whilst maintaining standards in highly regulated customer environments.Team management - Led and coordinated multiple geographically-distributed teams, ensuring seamless collaboration across different time zones and cultures to achieve unified goals.Agile transformation - Improving time to market and product quality by leading multiple development teams through a transition to Agile methodologies.
