On deliveries in Europe making sure access and correct equipment needed for deliveries, ie: 6TH Floor and addresses in remote/difficult areas, if Cranes or extra manpower are required.As drivers and porters are away 2-3 weeks at a time, on multiple drops and pick ups, covering one maybe two countries at a time, managing their needs and seeing they are content and everything running smoothly. It does involve very long hours on Fridays working late into the evening, ensuring all documents are correct and vehicles are back to supervise the loading and locating of freight.Important customer liaison for all deliveries and domestic collections, arranging quotes, insure service level is of high standard, to answer any queries, they may have. Being at a smaller company you have to evaluate profit margins and keeping existing customers happy and to build traffic flow. Including working till 11pm on Fridays to ensure all cargo shipped and loaded correctly, also having to give the clients that extra personal touch, not possible at the larger companies. Show less

This Combined with operating the Czech Republic export service, plus at that time all customs clearance being submitted on all shipments, as out of the EEC. I Received promotion to role of Supervisor still controlling the Italian import route. But with added responsibility of overseeing a team of three, in all aspects of Freight forwarding, sea and airfreight, Germany and Spain road freight.
