I spent seven years with CIPFA (the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) managing a range of functions and services within its Education Directorate. I made the move into higher education and spent three years working for the London School of Economics. I then moved into Executive Recruitment in 2007 and spent six years with Veredus, latterly as Director in the Education Practice, working with clients across higher education, further education and skills, Government and agencies to recruit Chairs, Non-Executive Directors, Chief Executives and Directors. I joined GatenbySanderson at the end of March 2014 to work in Executive Search within the growing education practice. In December 2019 I became a Partner in the Education Practice. I've worked across education and central government successful recruiting to CEO and Board positions in organisations as varied as the Student Loans Company, Education and Training Foundation, Ravensbourne, Chichester College Group and HM Treasury. A key aspect of my focus is on Board recruitment and the importance of recruiting the most effective individuals as independent board directors, especially in higher education.
