Global Finance Director at Brainlabs, the high performance tech-enabled media agency. Appointed immediately following Private Equity investment from Livingbridge in 2019 to lead the transformation of finance and to drive growth which culminated in securing a successful exit with Falfurrias Capital Partners at a valuation of $320m in 2023.Expansion was achieved through strong organic growth, most notably in the US, which was complemented with eight fully-integrated acquisitions funded through debt financing secured on two separate occasions with Investec and Alcentra. Overseen the build out of finance from a basic transactional function of 4 people to a multi jurisdiction team of 30+ adding FP&A, business intelligence & data capability to a strong compliance base. All acquisitions fully integrated into the core finance processes immediately post completion.

Finance Director responsible for Finance, IT and procurement within major division Aesica Pharmaceuticals. • Transformation of Aesica Pharmaceuticals from a centralised PE-owned business into a decentralised division of a PLC. Included development of cash and financial controls, alignment of risk assurance processes and the transformation of the financial reporting and finance team. • Redeveloped financial planning and management processes providing greater rigour and transparency, control and performance in costs, income, cash and working capital. • Co-implementation of effective pricing processes for new commercial contracts improving transparency through the separation of “cost” from “price” and the generation of simple and realistic information. • Supported the Executive Team in the creation of the new Group Strategy translating the output into transparent financials that met shareholder requirements.• Co-development and implementation of a significant restructuring plan in UK operations and central functions.

Responsible for all Group finance matters for the plc including financial reporting, treasury, tax, strategic review and forecasting, group financial policies, annual report and related communications as well as liaison with auditors and banks. Actively involved in execution of Group M&A propositions.• Redesigned financial reporting systems and processes including the implementation of a new consolidation system making the Group reporting systems “acquisition ready”.• Successful acquisition of Aesica Pharmaceuticals – lead and participated in several due diligence work streams; regulatory work streams with advisers / UKLA, working capital forecast model and related scenario planning, communicating final output to investment banks and advisers.• Post-merger integration of Aesica Pharmaceuticals, requiring development of cash and financial controls, alignment of risk assurance processes, and the transformation of the financial reporting and central finance team. • Established new treasury processes and controls to hedge currency and interest rate risk generating relationships with several banks in the process. • Incorporated working capital management and direct cash flow forecasting into the overall treasury process.• Established and embedded risk management systems and review processes as part of the Risk Committee, effectively addressing several transactional and operational control weaknesses at the Corporate and Subsidiary level.
