For over 25 years I worked for Unilever including 3 of their subsidiary companies. Starting in Logistics as a graduate apprentice and ending up in the IT Project Management team as a Senior Project Administrator. Redundancy was enforced in January 2020. Since then, I have tried to find my new career path. Many people find this an easy process, but it was hard to get a ‘first step on the ladder’. For a while now I have been looking into the area of Teaching/Primary school work. After a short period being a Pharmaceutical Delivery driver, which included delivery of ‘blue run’ deliveries, which was an eye opener but a valued educational experience.I then noticed a role being advertised as a Passenger Assistant for Special Needs children on the Wirral. I applied for this role and upon successful interview, completed all the compulsory training (WMBC & SEND) and started in November last year (2023). I have also covered SEND Adult runs as part of holiday/sickness cover.I love my current role, but it is contractual, hence it has strengthened my belief that I need to follow up my dream of working full time with Primary school children.Strong believer in team bonding and humour. In my experience there is an intricate bond within a team that if we can laugh together, we can work together and achieve anything. We work as a team and achieve and deliver as one.
