Mr. Barbera is a geographic information systems analyst providing data support and cartographic services for a wide range of geotechnical, environmental, and hydrological projects. He works closely with the geotechnical staff plotting boring and well locations and integrating CAD engineering drawings into GIS-based maps. He assists the field-related activities of staff environmental scientists and geologists by providing field maps using the ESRI’s ArcGIS Collector and Survey 1,2,3 applications for mobile data collection, and incorporating survey data into document-ready figures. He specializes in data visualization using ArcGIS Online creating viewers and interactive maps for project managers and clients. Mr. Barbera’s Hydrological experience includes work on a variety of Digital Flood Insurance Rate Mapping (DFIRM)-related projects which involved database QA/QC, annotation and flood plain editing, and flood zone data verification. He regularly incorporates the results of hydraulic modelling into inundation exhibits for public display and stakeholder meetings.Mr Barbera joined AMEC Earth and Environmental, Inc. in February 2000 as the Laboratory Manager and Quality Assurance Coordinator for AMEC’s Asbestos Laboratory in Tempe. He has 12 years experience as an analyst and laboratory manager being responsible for the analysis of suspect asbestos containing materials using Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) according to EPA Method 600/R-93/116.
