Started my career with Norweb as an Industrial Sales Application Engineer. I worked with companies in the Northwest of England to improve the efficiencies of their industrial processes to both reduce energy use and reduce bottlenecks, so that they could grow their businesses. This role provided the groundwork for what I do now. Only when I understood the business I was working with, could I then work with them, to develop the best technical solution. After leaving Norweb I worked as a National Account Manager for Scottish Hydro Electricity (now SSE) negotiating electricity and gas supply contracts, initially in Scotland, and then across the UK. Missing a technical challenge in this rol,e I then moved into Physics education teaching GCSE and A levels, mentoring university students and taking on several leadership roles including being one of the Northeast of England's first Specialist Leaders of Education.As our understanding of the extent of Global warming has developed, I wanted to make play a bigger role in addressing the problems and by working with the team at Reheat I am part of a company with the same focus. We aim to make making a positive difference by reducing emissions through both improving the efficiencies and replacing the use of fossil fuels. The reduction in carbon emissions goes hand in hand in with cost savings and often, an increase in local employment.In many ways I am now using all the skills from the different roles in my career as I work with industry and businesses once again to improve the efficiency of their operations, reduce their energy use, and save themselves money as well as helping to save our planet
