From February 2010 until September 2014 I was employed by IC Frith & Associates as Victorian State Manager, a top 10 insurance broker by revenue in Australia, one of the largest privately owned insurance brokerages in Australia. During that time, across all metrics, the Victorian Office did incredibly well: a) moving from poor staff retention to high retention and high satisfaction; b) 30% increase in income and reduction in expenses, turning it from a loss making branch to a profit making branch; and, c) increased client & industry visibility and communication.On 30th September 2014, Steadfast Ltd purchased the Victorian Office of IC Frith & Associates to be part of the Melbourne Steadfast Ltd 'Hub', a combination of six insurance broking businesses called Network Insurance Group. I was the only non-owner of the businesses purchased.On 6th February 2015, after merging IC Frith Victoria into the Hub, Steadfast Ltd made me Redundant.

I was responsible for managing 52 boat dealers across Asia Pacific for Genmar, these dealers contributed more than $100 million in international sales for Genmar Inc. Genmar was at that time the largest manufacturer of pleasure craft in the world, with 14 different brands of boats including luxury yachts, recreational powerboats, and fishing boats. Genmar marketed its boats through more than 1,400 independent dealers in the US and 40 countries worldwide. It's annual sales turnover exceeded $1.5 Billion and employed more than 5,500 people.Caught in the GFC when personal discretionary expenditure dried up and the USA banking system became incredibly distressed, Genmar filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May 2009, but their banks were implacable. Late 2009, Genmar sold its businesses to three external companies who took control mid 2010. After which, Genmar was 'wound-up' and de-listed as a company.After the sale of the business and before settlement by the three new owners, I was unsure if I would have a job for me, and so I returned to Insurance Broking for the first time in 20 years, as State Manager - Victoria at IC Frith & Associates, that five years later was purchased by Network Steadfast.

In charge of all things marketing and sales management. At that time Sunrunner was Australia's 2nd largest power boat luxury cruiser manufacturer. It built boats from 28' to 48' in length. The company sold boats in every state of Australia, into New Zealand, China and Europe.I left Sunrunner to take up the position of Manager Asia Pacific for Genmar International Inc.Four years after I left, the business assets were sold to a Chinese company in June 2012.

I was the Publisher and CEO.Marine Media Group Pty Ltd was a publisher of marine magazines specializing in 'buyers guides' for consumers, interested in power and sail boats, and all types of boat engines & accessories. The business slogan was 'a boat show in a book'. The business succeeded before the Internet/websites provided similar information.I operated this business at the same time as working at Club Marine Ltd, and published magazines using their branding under a licence agreement with them. I sold my 50% share to my business partner, and took up my role at Sunrunner Cruisers.
