I have an almost unique blend of experience spread over three significant disciplines.First, fire engineering. The ability to quantify work by applying fire engineering principles to projects, including Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software as part of a building design process. Secondly, fire safety management. Fire risk assessment and management with a range of clients from residential care to high hazard process industries and COMAH sites. I also delivered a range of fire safety instruction packages, including live fire-fighting experiences.Thirdly, practical fire-fighting. I began my career in practical fire-fighting and aircraft crash rescue in 1996. This aspect of my profession improved my understanding of the physical properties of fire.Combined with my experience, I am currently a part-time PhD student with a study period at the University of Leeds.
