CfoStonefashion 1989 - Apr 2013Stone Fashion is a group of companies which are designing, contract-manuafacturing and selling garments (mainly outerwear) for men, ladies and kids.I joined the company in 1989 as chief accountant for the Dutch part of the group. Shortly thereafter I became responsible for the international activities as well. In the years after the company opened subsidiaries in most Western European countries as well as Poland, the Czech Republic, South Korea, Hong Kong and the United States.For all these offices I setup the accounting systems and made sure the figures could be integrated in the consolidated financial statements.I prepared the monthly and yearly financial statements for the group which grew from around 40 to 350 staff and a turnover of €20 million to €60 million.In my latest role as CFO I was responsible for finance and administration, legal affairs, taxes, human resources, IT/ERP and office management.Unfortunately the company went bankrupt in 2001 but together with three of my colleagues I was able to restructure the company and we created a successful, albeit smaller group.Currently the level of sales is around €30 million and the company is financially healthy.
