Two Wheel View is a community based, non-profit organization, that fosters engagement and serves youth, young adults and marginalized groups within the community through direct practice to learn bicycle mechanic skills in a safe and inclusive space.As a facilitator to the GAP Employment Program I am responsible for providing employment skill workshops and mentoring a group of 8 young adults during an 8 week programI also help run the 10 week Earn A Bike program in Jr High and High Schools around Calgary, where we spend 2 hours a week at each school, teaching basic bike mechanics. At the end of the program the students have earned a “new to them” bike, plus a helmet, lock, basic tools. The program serves a lot of youth who are new to Canada, may face financial limits, experience a learning disability.I have developed and implemented a pop-up community program for youth that been running every Wednesday this summer (2023) in Calgary’s East Village: Youth Bike Maintenance 101
