Within my current role at Veolia, I am responsible for daily operations and regulatory/environmental compliance checks within a sewage treatment works and associated systems. My main duties and responsibilities include: Recovering samples of sludge, final treated effluent, groundwater and surface water for analytical analysis in accordance with industry and environmental guidance/best practice. Preparing the samples in accordance with guidelines for independent analytical analysis. Perform in-house laboratory tests of samples for environmental, quality and process control.Keep detailed logs all in-house and independent analytical analysis. Undertaking environmental monitoring on designated surface water bodies and observation boreholes for regulatory investigation. Performing and maintaining wastewater treatment at sewage treatment works. Supervise, train & provide development support for new employees. Complete preventative maintenance & inspections and procedures on all facilities & equipment & maintain records of inspections.Ensuring all COSHH standards are implemented across the working area. Producing risk assessments and method statements for operations and monitoring. Reviewing third party contractor RAMS and environmental documentation to ensure compliance. Maintenance of several Sewage Pump Stations. Assisting with the implementation of biodiversity conservation schemes. Reporting and communicating near miss situations, accidents & environmental incidents.Ensure all CDM, environmental, wastewater and H&S regulations are followed on site by both visitors and Veolia staff. Partake in all standby duties when scheduled.
