Paul is a recognised international expert in the field of healthcare Human Factors and patient safety research, innovation, and educational development. He gained his undergraduate degree in the sociology of human work in 1989 from Paisley University and was awarded his MSc in Applied Human Factors (with distinction) from the University of Nottingham in 2009. He completed his doctorate on significant event analysis in healthcare at the University of Glasgow in 2004. Paul has a portfolio career and provides expert risk and safety consultancy and training to international medical defence, independent investigation, commercial healthcare, aviation, military and academic organisations.
